Worms in stomach are parasites that find their way into our bodies through a number of ways. The most common one is through the food and water that we take. We can avoid this by making sure that we take food that is well-cooked and prepared in proper hygiene. Parasites may also get into our bodies during sex, via transmitting agents and/or through the nose and skin. The risk of getting these parasites can also increase if exposed to unhygienic areas inhabited by the parasites or if you have weak immune systems. Stomach worms are more prevalent in children but can also affect adults.

Pinworms

They are also known as thread or seat worms. They are white in color and small, about half an inch long. Seat worms are common in children though they affect people of all ages. Their most common symptom is irritation around the anus. This is because the female seat worms migrate to the rectum to lay eggs. A seat worm can lay up to 1500 eggs in a day.

Direct accidental ingestion of the larvae or hookworm eggs is another cause of infection.
